Queens of Geek

When BFFs Charlie, Taylor and Jamie go to SupaCon, they know it’s going to be a blast. What they don’t expect is for it to change their lives forever.

Charlie likes to stand out. SupaCon is her chance to show fans she’s over her public breakup with co-star, Reese Ryan. When Alyssa Huntington arrives as a surprise guest, it seems Charlie’s long-time crush on her isn’t as one-sided as she thought.

While Charlie dodges questions about her personal life, Taylor starts asking questions about her own.

Taylor likes to blend in. Her brain is wired differently, making her fear change. And there’s one thing in her life she knows will never change: her friendship with Jamie—no matter how much she may secretly want it to. But when she hears about the Queen Firestone SupaFan Contest, she starts to rethink her rules on playing it safe.

Queens of Geek was the book I didn’t know I needed so badly in my life. I clicked with every single one of the main characters and they brought me so much joy – I love them all so much!

This book was light, fun, funny, and very emotional, but it brought me so much happiness to read it and to know I wasn’t alone in some of the things I suffer with (shakes fist at anxiety).

The characters were imperfect and to me that made them perfect. Queens of Geek is an important book: it has bi-sexuality, autism spectrum representation, as well as anxiety. I will be completely honest and say the cover is what drew me in initially. Then the synopsis.

When the book finally arrived, I was so excited to read it and it didn’t let me down at all. I stayed up so late (for me – adulting is hard) just to finish the book; I didn’t want to put it down. The characters were beautiful and the setting of a convention (freaking awesome!) had me instantly hooked.

Queens of Geek is an easy, light read and has most definitely become one of my favourite books of 2017 (which is huge because I do not read contemp books – I’m a fantasy lover all over).

Thank you Jen Wilde for an amazing novel about three incredible best friends!
